KUALA LUMPUR: Issues on targeted subsidy, prices of goods and food security are among matters to be raised in Parliament today.
According to the Order Paper on the official Parliament website, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin (PN-Putrajaya) will ask the Minister of Finance when will the targeted subsidy be implemented and whether the government can guarantee that the price of goods will not increase with its implementation.
The question will be raised during the question and answer session, during which there will also be a question by Pang Hok Liong (PH-Labis) to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security on the total value of imported food for the years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Pang also wants to know measures or efforts that have been or will be taken by the government to ensure the country's food security and quality.
Another question of interest is by V. Ganabatirau (PH-Klang) to the National Unity Minister on how the government can ensure all races and religions will be treated fairly when there is a selective prosecution in cases involving insult on a race and religion.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah (PN-Indera Mahkota) will ask the Minister of Education regarding the status of new teacher recruitment in 2022 as well as the details of teacher recruitment according to subject options for 2016 to 2022 and the projected teacher recruitment for 2023 to 2027.
After the question and answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will continue with the debate and winding up of the Supply Bill 2023 at the committee level.
