The Magistrate's Court today issued an order for a mechanic and his son to be remanded for 38 more days from tomorrow pending an investigation into the murder of four people at a motor workshop in Tapah.
Magistrate Suhaima Mohd Noor allowed the application for the extension of remand from deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Suffian Jaafar.
Mohamad Suffian had applied to have the 57-year-old mechanic and his 20-year-old son remanded for a longer period.
They had been held for 21 days up to today to assist in the investigation.
On Oct 26, police arrested four suspects at a house near the workshop following a report that a 46-year-old gardener and real estate agent had gone missing on Aug 25 from Kampung Sungai Lah, Chenderiang, near Tapah.
The mechanic's wife and another son, who had also been held, were released on Dec 2.
