Suspect who tried to knock down policemen remanded

A man who allegedly tried to mow down a policeman with a car in Taman Sejati near here on Friday night, has been remanded for six days to facilitate investigations for attempted murder.

In the incident, the police fired a shot in the direction of the stolen car, hitting a woman who was seated beside the 31-year-old suspect.

The 22-year-old woman died in the 7.35pm incident Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the woman's remains were claimed by her family in Taman Sentosa on Sunday.

He said police were investigating the deceased's association with the suspect who had six previous criminal records.

It was earlier reported that the woman was in the Proton Waja car driven by the suspect who failed to stop when police patrolmen tried to flag him down in Jalan Batu 3 Lama here.
