Sultan Nazrin presents prizes to Quran Recital Assembly winners

IPOH: Mohd Kamaruzaman Daud and Munirah Razali were announced as the winners for Qari (male) and Qariah (female) categories of the state-level Quran Recital Assembly, at the Casuarina Convention Centre, Meru, last night.
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah presented each of them with RM10,000 in cash, a Haj package worth RM10,000, a plaque and a certificate.
Also present at the ceremony were Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim; Raja Muda Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; Raja Puan Besar Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima Idris Shah; Raja DiHilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Idris Shah and Raja Puan Muda Perak, Tunku Soraya Abdul Halim Shah.
State executive councillors, state secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) president Datuk Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini, state mosque grand Imam Abdul Farid Salleh and state Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) director Datuk Mohd Yusop Husin were also present.
Meanwhile, Aiman Ridhwan Mohamad Ramlan and Mohamad Sahran Termizi were named as first runner-up and second runner-up in the Qari category and received RM7,000 and RM5,000 cash respectively, a plaque and a certificate.
Norhazira Nabila Muhamad Kamel and Noor Suhaiza Chulan were named first runner-up and second runner-up in the Qariah category and took home RM7,000 and RM5,000 cash respectively, a plaque and a certificate.
Meanwhile, Qari and Qariah winners in the Quran memorisation category, which was divided into three sections (1-10th Juz), (1-20th Juz) and (1-30th Juz), received cash prizes ranging from RM2,000 to RM10,000 along with prizes including a plaque and certificate each.
Abdullah Muhammad Hanif and Adibah Husni Ahmad Rozaini, who were named as the winners for Quran Memorisation category (Qari and Qariah) (1-30th Juz) also received a haj package worth RM10,000 each.
The top winners will represent Perak at the national-level Quran Recital Assembly, scheduled to be held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur from June 13 to 18.
