MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam advised the Indian community against participating at the Bersih 5.0 rally planned for tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur.
He said the rally planned by Bersih was only intended to create a chaotic situation in the country.
"If they want to use their democratic right, they should abide by the police advice, but their intention is more of wanting to create a chaotic situation and this, I think, the people should oppose.
"I hope the Indian community will not support this movement because they are trying to topple a government that has been elected through a democratic process," said Subramaniam, who is also Health Minister.
He was speaking to reporters after opening a Women Leadership and Election Machinery programme here today.
Also present were MIC vice-president Datuk SA Vigneswaran, Negeri Sembilan MIC chairman Datuk L.Manickam and MIC Wanita chief M.Mohana.--Bernama
