The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has set guidelines on health aspects for students of institutions of higher learning (IPTs) who will return home in stages starting tonight.
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said their university's Health Centre would conduct a screening of students before embarking on the journey.
"As a result of the collaboration and discussion between the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and MOH, a guideline has been developed which covers health aspects for students who wish to return home.
"The university's Health Centre will conduct screening for students (body temperature, cough symptoms, colds, sore throat or shortness of breath) before being allowed to travel," he said at a press conference here on Monday.
During the trip back to the hometown, students are advised to always follow precautionary measures.
"Firstly, maintain a safe social distance of at least one meter away from others.
"Secondly, prioritise personal hygiene by regularly washing your hands with water and soap.
"Thirdly, encourage the use of mouth and nose coverings throughout the journey," he said.
