STPM: Discipline, not skipping online classes key to Nurul Aina's success

RAUB: Being highly disciplined and not skipping online classes during the Movement Control Order period paid off for Nurul Aina Amira Razak, 20, when she scored 4As in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2021 examination.

Nurul Aina Amira, a literature stream student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (LKTP) Tersang here, also described her excellent results as a joint effort with her friends who contributed to her success.

"My friends and I helped each other, especially in the subjects that we were strong in, and this made it easier for us to understand the topics better, which ultimately allowed us to answer questions well.

"We always made notes after school hours so that they can be read easily at any time and ensure that all assignments given by our teachers were completed as soon as possible."

The youngest of five siblings said this to reporters when met at the school today, right after the press conference announcing the STPM 2021 results for schools in Pahang.

Her schoolmate, Emylia Sunyoto, 20, said having a full concentration in class and studying for at least two hours daily helped her score 4As in the exam.

Apart from that, Emylia said she preferred to use interactive media when doing revisions as it helped her study and memorise better, compared to just reading a book.

"I make sure to immediately ask the teacher if there are things that I do not understand. I also diligently made my own notes to help me improve my understanding (of the subjects)," she said.

Meanwhile, Pahang Education Department deputy director Abdul Rahim Mohd Yunus said 59 candidates for STPM 2021 in the state scored a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.0, an increase of 0.68 per cent compared to the previous year.

He said eight candidates were from the science stream while the rest were students from the literature stream.
