The Perak state government has extended condolences to the family of Malaysian pilgrim, Rusiah Suar, who died in the crane-collapse tragedy in Mekah on Friday.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the state government would also consider giving assistance to her family to lighten their burden and as a show of sympathy for her and her family in Perak.

"I have also asked Datuk Rusnah Kassim, the state executive councillor in charge, to represent the government and visit her family because I understand that she comes from Datuk Rusnah's constituency as well as that of Datuk (Mohd) Khusairi (Abdul Talib)," he told a press conference after attending a 'Jasamu
Dikenang' 2015 event here today.

Rusnah, is the chairman of the State Women and Family Development, Community Welfare, Housing and Local Government Committee while Khusairi is the assemblyman for Slim.

At the event, 275 government retirees from various agencies received Premium Savings and Amanah Saham Bumiputera certificates worth RM3,000.

Rusiah, 56, from Felda Gunung Besout, Sungkai, who was earlier reported missing in the incident, was confirmed as the first Malaysian pilgrim killed in the tragedy.

Four others who have also been confirmed killed are Rohana Ismail, 54, (Kuala Krai, Kelantan); Munah Jusoh, 73, (Cherang Ruku, Kelantan); Siti Nurolshlizan Zolkifli, 37, (Tanah Merah, Kelantan) and one who was confirmed today, Zainun Taha, 69, from Ampang, Selangor.

Zambry was also asked if assistance would be provided to Malaysian pilgrim Abdul Muluk Ishak, 71, from Pantai Remis, who was earlier reported missing in the incident but was later found safe.

"I was informed that he is safe, so there will be none," he said.
