Smooth traffic flow on expressways

Traffic flow on the major expressways throughout the country was reported to be generally smooth this morning.
A PLUS Expressways Bhd spokesman reported that traffic flow at several expressways managed by the company was smooth as at 10am.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) reported that traffic flow along the East Coast Expressway (ECE) was also smooth. Likewise, the situation at the Gombak and Bentong Toll Plazas too was smooth for both directions.
He said no accidents had been reported on both expressways (PLUS and ECE).
Motorists were advised to follow the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) issued by PLUS Expressways Berhad (PLUS) for the North-South Expressway in conjunction with the Wesak Day and school holidays.
For the period May 23 to June 9, travel time proposed for the journey from the Klang Valley to Perlis, Kedah and Penang via Juru, and Johor via Skudai, Senai Utama, Ayer Hitam, Yong Peng and Tangkak was before 12pm.
For the journey from the Klang Valley to North Perak via Kuala Kangsar, Changkat Jering and Taiping, as well as Melaka via Jasin and Ayer Keroh the proposed time is between noon and 3pm.
From the Klang Valley to Central Perak via Ipoh, Simpang Pulai and Gopeng as well as Melaka via Simpang Ampat the proposed time is between 3pm and 6pm.
For the journey from the Klang Valley to South Perak via Tapah, Bidor, Slim River and Tanjung Malim, as well as Negeri Sembilan via Senawang, Port Dickson and Seremban the suggested time is after 6pm.
All vehicles with number plates ending with odd figures travelling via the Johor Causeway and Linkedua as well as the Penang Bridge are advised to enter the expressways at odd hours such as 9am, 1pm and 7pm while vehicles with number plates ending with even numbers are advised to begin their journey at even hours such as 10am, 2pm and 8pm.
For free travel from the Klang Valley, motorists are advised to depart before 9am and after 10pm.
Meanwhile, for the return journey to the Klang Valley from May 23 until June 9 from Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Central Perak, Johor and Melaka (via Simpang Ampat), the first option is between 9am and 11am while the second option is between 6pm and 8pm.
The travel time suggested for the journey to the Klang Valley from North Perak, South Perak, Melaka (via Jasin and Ayer Keroh) and Negeri Sembilan is between 2pm and 5pm for the first option and after 10pm for the second option.
All journeys from the north and south via the Johor Causeway and Linkedua as well as the Penang Bridge for vehicles with odd number plates are advised to depart at every odd hour while for vehicles with even number plates should depart at even hours.
For free travel to the Klang Valley, motorists are advised to depart before 9am.
