Shell Malaysia has confirmed that as at 9pm today, 31 more of its retails stations were operating normally, accepting both cash and credit card transaction, in addition to the 230 stations.

"Most other stations are accepting cash payments," it said in a statement in response to the technical difficulties that affected credit card transactions at Shell stations, nationwide, since 1am today.

While apologising for the inconvenience caused to motorists who were unable to fill up their tanks, as a result of the disruption, Shell said it was currently working around the clock to resolve the matter.

"We are working fast to ensure that the issue is resolved in all our stations," the statement added. - BERNAMA
