Seven Bangladesh national detained for falsifying of documents

Seven men of Bangladesh national were detained by the police in Putrajaya last Friday for alleged cheating, including falsifying of travel documents and work permits.
Kuala Lumpur Commercial Criminal Investigation Department head ACP Izany Abdul Ghany said the suspects, aged between 25 and 31, were detained during raids at two apartment units at Precinct 9 in Putrajaya.
"In the first raid, police detained three of them, while three others fled through the back door, but were later apprehended," he added.
During the raid, he said police seized six Bangladesh passports, three bags containing 376 passports from various countries, RM5,000 and three handphones.
He said the seventh suspect was detained at his residence where police also seized equipment believed used to make forged CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) personnel registration cards.
The seizures included four forged CIDB cards,410 pieces of white cards, a card printing machine, a LCD monitor and a printer," he added.
Izany said the suspects, who were employed as construction workers, cleaners and restaurant assistants, had been in the country for between a month and seven years.
They will be in remand until this Friday for investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
