Selangor police seize 31,796 online gambling equipment worth RM25.4 million

Police seized 31,796 online gambling equipment worth RM25.4 million in Selangor from January to August this year.

Selangor Police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said they conducted 3,016 raids in several areas including Subang Jaya, Serdang and Sungai Buloh.

"We seized online gambling equipment such computers, tablets and mobile phones. This proves that police are committed in fighting online gambling," he said after disposing gambling equipment at the Ara Damansara police station, Thursday.

Abdul Samah said 3,381 individuals were also arrested in connection with online gambling.

"The government has to formulate a specific law which is more stringent to eradicate online gambling," he added.
