SHAH ALAM: About 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the Selangor Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations Tour (AKM) which will last for three days until Sunday, said Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar.

He said that until this afternoon, attendance from the public has been encouraging and it was expected that more people would enliven the tour which was held at the Shah Alam Stadium grounds, from 9 am to 9 pm.

"Alhamdulillah, on the first day, when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob attended this event, the number of visitors reached the target at about 1,000 at the launch ceremony," he said.

"We hope there will be more attendance for tomorrow and Sunday with a target of 100,000 visitors," he told a press conference at the 2022 Institut Keusahawanan Negara Berhad (INSKEN) Guidance Programme graduation ceremony, here last night.

Themed 'Usahawan Keluarga Malaysia Penggerak Ekonomi Negara' (Malaysian Family Entrepreneurs Driving the National Economy), the eighth edition of the AKM Tour series was organised by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative and it involved about 100 small and medium industry entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, INSKEN's chief executive officer, Muhd Firdaus Azharuddin said two guidance programmes organised by the institute managed to increase sales revenue, amounting to RM907,000, as well as 30 new jobs, after the completion of the programme, which was carried out in stages for four months since the beginning of this year.

"The increase in sales was created by 107 entrepreneurs who have completed two programmes - the INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching (IBBC) and Consumer Intelligence Programme (CIP)," he said.

He said overall, 57 per cent of the total number of participants of the two programmes succeeded in achieving the key performance index (KPI) of the set programme, which is a minimum sales revenue increase of 20 per cent.
