KOTA BHARU:The second wave of floods in Kelantan are over and the last temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in the Pasir Mas district that was opened on Dec 18, ceased operations today.

Pasir Mas Social Welfare Department officer Azizan Aziz said the PPS at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gual Tok Deh that sheltered 33 people from six families was closed at 2 pm.

“Alhamdulillah (thanks to Allah), the weather is getting better, the inundation at their homes has receded and it is safe for them to return,” she said when contacted by Bernama.

Meanwhile, according to the infobanjir.water.gov.my website, as at 3pm, the water level a Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang was 8.08 metres (m), slightly above the warning level of 8m, but showing a downward trend.

At the same time, the water level of Sungai Golok at Kuala Jambu, Tumpat, remained above the warning level at 2.48m (warning level 2.15m).
