The number of people staying at the sole flood relief centre in the Serian district remains the same as this evening with 21 people from five families.

Sarawak Civil Defence Department public relations officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the relief centre in Slabi, Entungkuh, about 70km from here was opened since last February 28.

She said the surrounding areas around the residents' home were still flooded but the water level had subsided slowly since a few days ago due to improved weather.

Besides that, she said in Kampung Koran, Serian, about 60km from here, 10 people from two families were still sheltering at the relief centre at the village's community hall because their homes were destroyed in a landslide.
