The High Courts decision tomorrow on a challenge on the dissolution of the DUN will determine the preparations of the Bersatu Sabah to face the state polls.
The High Court’s decision tomorrow on a challenge on the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will determine the preparations of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sabah to face the state polls.
Its leader, Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor said the current scenario in Sabah is seen to affect the results but the level of preparedness of his party to face the State Election (PRN) is not affected.
"This matter can only be decided by the court, I cannot talk more than that but whatever the decision, we are ready to face the election.
"And if the court makes a decision other than that, the situation will be quite different and maybe we will wait for what the court decides," he said when met after attending a Bersatu membership form handing over ceremony in Kampung Baru-Baru here on Thursday.
For the record, a court decision is expected to be announced tomorrow regarding the judicial review sought by 33 elected representatives led by former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.
All the elected representatives applied for a judicial review on the challenge of dissolving the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by the Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin on July 30.
Meanwhile, when asked about the distribution of seats between Bersatu and UMNO in Sabah, Hajiji said his party had met with UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, several times and believed that an agreement would be reached before the nomination day on September 12.
According to him, the number of seats that would be obtained by his party is not a big question but what is more important is to avoid a clash of seats.
"I have met Datuk Bung several times before, in the early stages we seem to have one common goal which is to win the election.
"This means that in this election we cannot clash with each other between UMNO, BN and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) parties.
"So, I am confident before the end of this month and before the nomination, this matter will be resolved," he said.
Hajiji, when asked about the internal crisis that occurred among Sabah UMNO leaders, stressed that his party did not want to interfere in the matter but hoped it could be resolved amicably and to take into account the readiness of all parties under PN to face the Sabah polls.
