A campaign is to be launched in Kota Kinabalu tomorrow to collect up to 2,000 pints of blood to meet the needs of all hospitals in Sabah.
Dubbed "Setitis Darah, Seribu Makna" (A Drop of Blood, A Thousand Meanings), the campaign is organised by Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth and Sabah Puteri Umno and will be held in stages at 42 locations involving all 25 Umno divisions in the state.
Sabah BN Youth secretary Mohammad Alamin said today the campaign was expected to be launched by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman at Palm Square, Centre Point, Kota Kinabalu.
The event, scheduled from 10 am to 8 pm, would also comprise other activities, such as registration for the second 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M 2.0) as well as for participation in the BN Youth Volunteers (BNYV), health checks and an exhibition, he said in a statement.
Mohammad said the campaign was an effort to raise awareness in the people on their social responsibility.
"As such, we welcome the cooperation of the people in making the campaign a success and overcome the shortage of blood at all hospitals in the state, he added.
