MIRI: Ahead of the 12th Sarawak state election tomorrow, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan today called on voters to make the right choice by voting for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidates.

Awang Tengah, who is contesting in Bukit Sari, said only GPS was fighting for the rights of Sarawak as enshrined in the Federal Constitution, Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) report.

He also promised to continue the development agenda in Bukit Sari, protect the welfare of the people and build strong foundations for the future of the young generation in the constituency.

"I call on voters to vote for GPS. After going through the 12-day campaign period, I believe you have thought long and hard and will make the best decision to choose who will be elected to represent you in this state seat.

"The three-cornered fight in Bukit Sari this time proves that the democratic system gives you all the opportunity to determine your leader. Therefore, carry out your responsibilities at the ballot box (tomorrow)," he said via a video recording.

He also thanked all election officials, security personnel and the party machinery who worked hard in carrying out their duties well throughout the campaign period in the new normal.

Tomorrow, a total of 1,213,769 ordinary voters in Sarawak, including 12,935 in the Bukit Sari state constituency, will fulfil their responsibilities to elect new representatives for a new state government to be formed.
