Remains of three Malaysian students killed in Jordan arrive at KLIA

The remains of three Malaysian students who were killed in a road accident in Jordan on Saturday, arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here, today.

Royal Jordanian flight RJ185 which brought the remains of Fatin Iqmal Idziyani Che Aziz, Hana' Azhar and Al Najiatun Nailah Mohd Safie landed at about 4.25pm.

Several officials from the Foreign Ministry and the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MWAIP) were present at the airport to receive them.

The remains of Hana' and Al Najiatun Nailah were then flown to Kota Bharu, Kelantan via flight MH1402 at 6.25 pm.

Meanwhile, the van transporting the remains of Fatin Iqmal Idziyani was seen leaving the KLIA cargo complex at 6.15 pm, accompanied by her mother Rapidah Mat Rani, and husband Ahmad Sabri Mat Darman.

Speaking to reporters waiting at the entrance to the cargo complex, Rapidah, 47, said she was grateful her daughter's remains had arrived back home, although the process took some time.

She said the remains would be taken to Masjid Al-Bukhary, near Jalan Hang Tuah here for prayers before being taken back to her hometown in Lenggong, Perak, for burial.

The three third-year students of Mutah University, Jordan, were killed in a road accident at Ashrafiyeh, in the region of Mafraq, while they were on their way to attend a religious programme.

The Kelantan state government and MWAIP were reported to have financed the cost of bringing the remains of the students home.
