The aid was presented by Lim in a simple ceremony at the State Assembly building on Friday.
The Madrasah Tahfiz Al Quran Raudhatul Ulum, which was gutted by fire three days ago, received cash aid of RM5,000 from the Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, to enable it to be rebuilt and continue providing religious education and shelter to its 12 students.
The aid was presented by Lim in a simple ceremony at the State Assembly building here Friday.
Headmaster Abdullah Husain said the school had been operating for four years since 2012 and had educated more than 50 students since its establishment.
He said some of the students were orphans and currently had to take shelter at another home.
Meanwhile, Lim also presented a wheelchair to an eight-year-old Muhammad Nazif Abdullah, who is suffering from leukaemia.
Muhammad Nazif had come to the State Assembly with his parents Abdullah Hashim and Samsiah Ariffin, and with the help of Children’s Wish Society, which had helped more than 600 terminally ill children to fulfill their wishes since its establishment eight years ago.
