Red flag over H5N1 outbreak in Kelantan

The H5N1 influenza in Kelantan has spread over two new districts, making the number of affected areas to 23 villages in Kota Bharu, Pasir Mas, Bachok and Pasir Puteh.

With the spread of the virus, a National Security Council 20 (MKN 20) order has been issued for all parties involved to cooperate.

To date, 23,768 fowls and 88 free range eggs from 129 premises have been destroyed.

The increase in the number of cases has effectively 'red flag' several areas in the state. There has been no reports on the H5N1 disease infecting people or animals.
