Umno Youth vice-chief Datuk Razali Ibrahim has yet to decide whether to contest any position in party polls in October.
He said due to age factor, he would not be able to vie for any post in the Youth movement.
"However, I have expressed my support to Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin in defending his post," he told reporters after launching the Rakan Muda Bubur Lambuk programme sponsored by the Muar Youth and Sports Office at the Sultan Ibrahim Jamek Mosque here today.
Razali said although the Umno constitutional amendments enabled all members to contest for any position, those who wished to do so should be able to contribute ideas in strengthening the party.
On the Johor Umno Youth's call for all positions in the youth movement should be open to contest, Razali, who is also member of parliament for Muar, said he supported the idea.
"Most importantly, this election will not only strengthen the party, but also be able to restore the confidence of the Malays in particular and people in general in Umno," he said.
