Malaysia will closely monitor the crisis in the Persian Gulf following the decision of some countries to sever diplomatic relations with Qatar.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said he will closely monitor the developments of the situation.
“We are close to the Gulf countries and we do not know what the issues are.
“For now we will monitor the developments," he said after reviewing the progress of development projects Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) on Monday.
Seven Arab countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) severed their diplomatic ties with Qatar on Monday,
Each country has accused Qatar supporting terrorism and other extremist groups.
