The Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association on Sunday lodged a police report alleging that the owner of a certain Facebook account had insulted Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.
Its chief activist PPIM Datuk Nadzim Johan, who was accompanied by representatives of 10 other non-governmental organisations, lodged the report at the Dang Wangi police station here at 10.54am.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, he said police must act fast on the matter as otherwise more people might be emboldened to do the same.
Meanwhile, City deputy police chief SAC Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh in a statement said six more police reports were lodged on the same matter at the Dang Wangi police station by representtives of various NGOs Sunday.
He said police were investigating the case under the Sedition Act 1948.
