Police raid Empower NGO office in PJ

Police today raided the office of the Persatuan Kesedaran Komuniti Selangor (Empower) in Jalan PJS4, Petaling Jaya, near here and questioned several staff.

Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat, when contacted, confirmed the raid on the office of the NGO.

He said the raid was conducted by Bukit Aman's Classified Crimes Unit.

Meanwhile, Empower said on its Twitter account that the staff were questioned under Section 124C of the Penal Code pertaining to attempt to commit activity detrimental to parliamentary democracy.

It is learnt that the police removed several documents from the office.
