The Terengganu police have found several leads into the shooting of a restaurant owner in Kampung Cacar, Dungun, yesterday.

State Criminal Investigation Department head, ACP K.Manoharan, who is heading a special team which is investigating the case, said police had interviewed and recorded statements from the victim's family members and employees.

"None of them witnessed the incident or heard any shot being fired," he told reporters here today.

Manoharan said police believed Mohamad Lutpi Mansor, 50, was shot from a distance and that there were witnesses as the body was found near the main road.

A passer-by found the bloodied body of Mohamad Lutpi at about 7.30am yesterday at a car park infront of his steamed rice restaurant.

The victim was said to have left his house at 4.30am to go to a bank in Bandar Dungun to deposit the previous day sales collection.

Manoharan said a post mortem conducted on the victim confirmed that he was shot with two bullets found lodged on the chest and left shoulder.

The bullets had been sent for analysis to determine the type of weapon used in the shooting, he added.

He advised the public to not make any speculation on the incident and urged those with information to contact the nearest police station.
