Police have arrested six men including three teenagers for robbing a 24-hour convenience store at a shopping centre here early Friday morning.

Kuantan police chief, ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said all suspects, aged between 16 and 21 years, were held separately yesterday.

He said in the 4.15 am incident yesterday, two convenience store workers were approached by five men wearing helmets with one of them brandishing a knife.

"With one of the suspects guarding outside, the rest dashed into the store and forced the victims to hand over their money.

"The suspects then ransacked the shop before running off with the mobile phone and bag belonging to a worker, a quantity of cigarettes and RM30 in cash before fleeing in three motorcycles," he said.

"They were picked up around Kemunting here between 10.30 am to 5pm yesterday following a tip-off by one of the gang's previous victims after which a manhunt for the criminals was launched.

"From the detained suspects, police managed to confiscate three motorcycles, a knife, helmets and clothings used during robberies," he said when contacted here, today.

Abdul Aziz said all the suspects were brought to the Kuantan police headquarters here for investigation.
