SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan police have launched a manhunt for a senior citizen to assist in an investigation of a fraudulent land transfer case resulting in a RM22 million loss.
Negeri Sembilan contingent police headquarters (IPK) Commercial CID head Supt Aibee Ab Ghani is seeking information on a man known as Chua Seng Keat, 61, whose last known address is in Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
He said police are acting on a report by a businessman who recently discovered that a piece of land under his company's name had been transferred to an unknown individual after a search was done at the Land and Mines Office at Wisma Negeri Sembilan on Oct 15 last year.
"The individual had made the fake signature in all the documents related to the land swap without the knowledge of the complainant which resulted in an RM22 million loss," he said in a statement here today.
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
Anyone with information about the man can contact investigating officer ASP Rosmaliah Khalit at 013-9443968 to assist in the investigation.
