AMONG the headlines for Wednesday, 23rd June, 2021, the World Bank urges Putrajaya to spend more for Malaysia’s poor, suggests raising debt limit to fight COVID-19.
In it’s June edition of the Malaysia Economic Monitor report launched this morning, the institution says “the continuous cycle of ‘on-and-off’ closures and reopenings will have negative spillovers on the economy.”
Also, the Public Health England found that two doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccine could still keep patients with the Delta variant out of hospital but both are now less able to stop infection in the first place.
