Among the headlines for Wednesday, 12 May, 2021, The United States has been returning funds it has recovered from seized assets that were allegedly bought with stolen 1MDB money. According to Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance, the funds were directly channelled to Malaysia’s Assets Recovery Trust Account managed by the Accountant General’s Department, which has received RM16.05 billion of seized and repatriated 1MDB funds to date.

Also, Brazil’s health regulator recommended officials to suspend AstraZeneca Plc’s Covid-19 shots to pregnant women as authorities investigate the reported death of a woman in Rio de Janeiro who had received the vaccine.
