AMONG the headlines for Friday, August 13, 2021, Bank Negara Governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus said, waiving the accrued interest payment on all individual and business loans will have significant long-term consequences for banks, especially when the interest income accounts for 80 pct of banks’ revenues.
Also, more defence personnel could begin patrolling Sydney from next week to help ensure compliance of lockdown rules as officials today warned of a surge in cases in Australia’s largest city.
