Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) strategic director, Rafizi Ramli said on Tuesday that the party's future is more important compared to the infighting between two personalities which is happening within PKR right now.
Rafizi who is also Pandan MP was commenting on the ongoing crisis between two individuals in PKR - Deputy President Mohamed Azmin Ali and Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
"We cannot campaign for party election just for the sake of internal matters," said Rafizi during the announcement of the newly-formed team comprising himself, PKR Secretary-General Datuk Saifuddin Nasution and PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar.
He said the voice of the people cannot be neglected during any campaigning process because one's political objective is to free the people from corruption.
Rafizi also urged the party to move away from the crisis of those two 'personalities' and stay focused on fighting for the people.
According to Rafizi, what's going on between Azmin and Khalid is unhealthy and not helping the people at all.
"So that is why we are contesting, so that the campaign is focused on championing the people's issue. As a party, we will continue our struggle to enable us to win the next general election," he said.
On March 1, Khalid announced that he will be contesting for the post of PKR deputy president during the party elections this May.
Relations between Khalid and Azmin had been reported to be "not too friendly" after Azmin frequently criticised the state government on several issues.
Azmin also lambasted the state government's decision to increase the monthly salary and allowance of the Menteri Besar and the State Exco members as being too high.
