The Perak State Assembly sitting on Monday passed the Supply Enactment or 2017 State Budget after it was debated for four days by almost all the Barisan Nasional (BN) and opposition assemblymen.
Earlier at the policy stage, the budget was approved by block voting following a request from Nga Kor Ming (DAP-Kepayang) and accepted by Speaker S. Thangeswary.
The block voting saw 31 BN assemblymen supporting, 23 DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) opposing while three PAS assemblymen chose to abstain from voting.
The 2017 Perak state budget amounting to RM1.2 billion tabled on Nov 15 with a RM129.7 million deficit is themed 'Growth and Prosperity'.
The sitting today also approved the Perak 2016 Decorations, Titles and Awards Enactment (Prevention of Improper Use) after several cases of abuse and forgery were reported recently. --Bernama
