Peeping tom fined RM2,000

An unemployed peeping tom was fined RM2,000 in default three months jail by the Magistrate's Court here today after being caught peeping at a female student in a toilet, yesterday.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som sentenced Chew Chee Yean, 30, after he pleaded guilty to peeping a 14-year-old female student with an intention of insulting her modesty.
He committed the offence at a women's toilet at Viva Home, Jalan Loke Yew, here, at 2.30pm on April 9.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin prosecuted while the accused was not represented.
At the same court, a factory operator, Shah Wahid Omar, 41, was fined RM3,000 in default four months' jail after pleading guilty to using force against a policeman, four days ago.
The accused committed the offence against a police officer with intent to scare him from carrying out his duty as a public servant at Jalan Istana, here, at 5.35pm on April 6. -- Bernama
