Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan has denied that he will resign after allegedly failing to fight corruption in the country.
He said it is not easy to resign as minister because the post was a trust given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the people.
"I know that several blogs claimed that I would resign. Why should I resign? I have a mission to fulfill both for the people and the Prime Minister for his confidence in appointing me," he told reporters after the 'Givers and Takers Integrity Corruption Continuum' Forum at the Malaysian Institute of Integrity, here on Saturday.
Low said that he has to fulfill the trust given to him by the Prime Minister and would not give up easily.
"I know what I'm doing and clear of what I need to do," he said when commenting on postings on opposition blogs recently that he would resign as minister.
DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang was reported as saying in opposition blogs that Low would follow in the footstep of P. Waythamoorthy who resigned as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and a senator recently.
In a a statement on Monday, Hindraf secretary P. Ramesh said Waythamoorty resigned as he felt the government had failed to keep its promises after winning the 13th general election.
Waythamoorthy was appointed as a senator and deputy minister after the Barisan Nasional (BN) won the general election last year.
Hindraf signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the BN government on April 18 on resolving the socio-economic issues of the Indian community.
