PAS spiritual leader, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat passed away peacefully at his home in Kampung Pulau Melaka, Kota Baharu, Kelantan at 9.40pm today.
Funeral prayers will be helsd at 10 am on Friday at the Tok Guru Mosque in Pulau Melaka.
Allahyarham’s son, Nik Mohamad Abduh in a statement today evening said that his father’s health had deteriorated soon after receiving treatment for his ulcers on Wednesday and trhe doctors wre working hard to keep him stabile.
“Pray that my father returns healthy,” he wrote in his statement.
Allahyarham was born in 1931 at Kampung Pulau Melaka into a staunch Muslim family.
His marriage to Tuan Sabariah binti Tuan Ishak was blessed with 10 children consisting of five girls and five boys.
Despite being the Kelantan Mentari Besar for 23 years, Allahyarham lived a moderate life, residing in a wooden kampung home.
He was taken to the Universiti Sains Malaysia hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian on January 1 for prostate cancer.
