Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said's action of stopping two Gardenia bread lorries for the bread to be given to hungry flood victims won him praise even from the opposition at the state assembly sitting, Wednesday.

Hishamuddin Abdul Karim (PAS-Tepoh) lauded Ahmad's action in Chendor, Pahang during the floods last week to help flood victims who were stranded at roadsides when the Kemaman-Kuantan road was closed to traffic after it was inundated by flood waters.

"I think if I were in the menteri besar's place at the time, I would have done the same on humanitarian grounds," he said when debating on the state's 2014 Budget.

Ahmad's action of distributing the bread to flood victims was also praised by members of the public, with the incident going viral on Facebook and the blogs.
