Partially-devoured remains of newborn girl found in Perai

The partially-devoured body of a newborn girl was found in some bushes by the Perai River, near a sugar refinery here today.

A police spokesman said the remains were discovered by a man about 1pm.

He said the man spotted a dog biting into what was left of the body before chasing the canine away.

A police report was lodged.

Seberang Perai Tengah police chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said the remains were sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital.
