Over RM33 mil in cost for MH370, MH17 search and rescue operations so far

LIOW: A total of 3,732 public servants have been involved in the operations to date.
The government has so far allocated RM33,461,861.50 to bear the search and rescue operation costs for Malaysia Airlines flights MH370 and MH17.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said 3,732 public servants were involved in the operations.
"The search and recovery operation costs have been borne by the countries involved," he said in his written reply to Ng Wei Aik (DAP-Tanjong) at the Dewan Rakyat sitting Thursday.
Flight MH370 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members went missing while en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, while MH17 with 298 passengers and crew on board is believed to have been shot down over troubled eastern Ukraine while on its way to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam on July 17.
