Open ground next to Sri Penara flats to be turned into car park

The Federal Territories Ministry will turn an open ground adjacent to Sri Penara flats in Bandar Sri Permaisuri here into a car park.

Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said this was to address the critical shortage of parking spaces in the neighbourhood.

"The identified location is an open ground under the nearby Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) transmission tower and TNB has granted approval to use the area," he said in his speech at the 'Kenduri 1Wilayah Persekutuan' programme for Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency here Saturday.

Tengku Adnan said the residents of the flats had been deluged with parking summonses as they had no choice but to park their vehicles at any available spaces, including on road shoulders.

"Thus, I have asked the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Enforcement Department to review and consider (granting) summons exemption on vehicles parked along the road shoulders until the car park is made available," he said
