Parti Generasi Baru (NewGen Party) today lodged a police report against a former office bearer of the political party alleging that the official had committed criminal breach of trust to the tune of RM105,000.
Its acting secretary-general Mohamad Zaini Jaafar, speaking to reporters after lodging the police report at the Sepang police headquarters here, alleged that the office bearer concerned had diverted party funds into the account of a company.
"The party's coffers are empty," he said.
NewGen was founded by Gobi Krishnan, a former PKR leader in 2013. It has since been taken over by former UMNO leaders Datuk Mohd Ezam Mohd Nor and Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan who are seeking to change its name to Parti Bebas Rasuah (PBR) or Corruption Free Party.
The Registrar of Societies on Wednesday announced that it was investigating PBR because it allegedly had a dubious registered address. --Bernama
