New Year celebrations in Putrajaya cancelled - Putrajaya Corporation

The new year's celebration for 2015 which was scheduled to be held on the night of Dec 31 here has been cancelled after discussions were held between the Putrajaya Corporation (Ppj) and Ambank Group (AG).
PPj in its Facebook page announced, "The Putrajaya 2015 New Year celebration has been officially cancelled."
At around 12pm earlier today, PPj had posted on its Facebook page that discussions would be held with the Ambank Group to cancel the event in respect of the flood victims.
Meanwhile, the majority of Facebook users have thanked the organisers for cancelling the event, which had also included a concert.
"Thank you PPj for listening to the public's hearts. Thank you PPj president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat for your kind concern to re-evaluate the situation and taking a proactive measure in line with the public's wishes," said Mida Anan Amin.
Wati Ibrahim said, "Congratulations for being sensible and deciding accordingly."
Intan Salina hoped that all Malaysian's prayed for the wellbeing of the flood victims and thanked the organisers for understanding the flood situation which had struck the country, by cancelling the celebration.
"Thank God, replace it (celebration) with prayers at Dataran Putrajaya or in mosques and suraus all around Putrajaya", suggested Mat Rani.
Meanwhile, Mohd Fadli Musa suggested that the event could be replaced with religious programmes and prayers to dispel the unfortunate situation.
