The New Terengganu Transformation (TTB) introduced in 2014 is capable of becoming a platform and complementing agenda to TN50.

TTB is the brainchild of Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman which also gives focus to transformation in the economy, government and politics, together with eight basic principles.

Ahmad Razif who had just held the post for a month, announced his intention to spearhead TTB and was committed to his mission, which produced results within a few months, following continuous efforts to provide clarifications to the people.

His aspiration is for TTB to not merely be a slogan and branding statement, but also to be translated together with the government machinery and party to ensure its direction, hence, enabling it to benefit the well-being of the people and state further.

In Oct last year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak inspired the TN50 initiative as a preparation for 2050 which required the views of youths in becoming a developed country.

Ahmad Razif when contacted by Bernama said if TTB reached its goal, it would also help realise the aspirations of TN50 and give pride to the people of Terengganu for being ready to face various situations by 2050.

"Although attaining the goal is a daunting task, but it has begun and become inherent in the pulse of the people. We aspire to be the best in all aspects. It is not only for the state government but also for the people," he stressed.

TTB has outlined eight principles, as follows:

Principle 1: Inclusiveness which is embracing the people''s voice as development input with development based on the needs of the people

Principle 2: Mosques and surau as conduits of unity besides expanding the role and image of mosques for the ummah or community.

Principle 3: Building of happy families as the foundation of people''s well-being

Principle 4: Integrity (internal and external cleanliness) which symbolises the culture of the people of Terengganu as well as being free from negative practices such bribery and misappropriation.

Principle 5: People-friendly but firm which involves building good ties while maintaining professionalism

Principle 6: High level of work discipline, an important part in the growth of an organisation which emphasises on consistency, commitment and patience

Principle 7: Call to unity as a measure to enhance unity, especially among the various races and avoid any action that can affect or threaten the sovereignty of the state and nation.

Principle 8: Strengthening the education sector through programmes such as the setting up of modern religious schools (sekolah pondok), English and Mathematics improvement classes for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia school leavers as well as the establishment of three new IMTIAZ secondary schools in Marang, Setiu and Kuala Nerus.

Ahmad Razif had not place any time frame in the planning of the TTB agenda and hoped that it would continue until the state is at its best in all matters, in tandem with the needs of TN50.

He is also actively promoting both agendas, TTB and TN50, to the people so that it would be adopted for the future. - BERNAMA
