Nazir Razak reacts on The Edge's permit suspension

CIMB Group chairman, Datuk Seri Nazir Razak today said The Edge Weekly and The Edge Financial Daily, whose publishing permits had been temporarily suspended by the Home Ministry Friday, played a big role in keeping the business community informed.

“The Edge is a pillar of our business community – big role in keeping us informed, honest and competitive,” Nazir said in his latest post on Instagram.

He added, the recent 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) controversy coverage seemed outstanding but if there were flaws, then the parties involved need to correct them or take legal recourse.

Nazir was commenting on the suspension of publishing permits imposed on The Edge Weekly and The Edge Financial Daily for three months by the Home Ministry.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanky Jaafar when contacted by Astro AWANI today confirmed the suspension was implemented after its reports were found to contain ‘certain motives’.
