Namewee video clip: Police to get Interpol's help to locate 3 other singers

The controversial rap singer is in remand for four days since yesterday for investigation into a song video clip which allegedly insulted Islam.
The Penang police will ask Bukit Aman to request for assistance from Interpol to locate the three men who sang with Namewee in a video-clip which allegedly insulted Islam to assist investigation.
Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab said based on information obtained from Namewee, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee, 33, the three men are Taiwanese singers and are residing in Taiwan.
"Investigation is on-going and we will get assistance from Interpol to find the three men to record their statements.
"So far, police have recorded statement from seven people," he told reporters after a dinner and opening of a football championship to vie for the Inspector-General of Police trophy by Bukit Aman director (management) Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah here last night.
Abdul Ghafar said the police would also hold a meeting with the Penang Islamic Religious Department (JAIPP) to discuss the issue.
"We will discuss with JAIPP to know to what extent has the action by Namewee in singing and recording the act in the mosque insulted Islam," he said.

Namewee was detained at the KL International Airport (KLIA) last Sunday upon arrival from abroad for investigation under Section 295 of the Penal Code.
The 4:05 minute-long video depicting four men singing in Mandarin which went viral on social media had angered the public for allegedly insulting Islam.
