Najib congratulates Erdogan on election win

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today congratulated Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for winning the country' first direct presidential election on Sunday.
"Congratulations Erdogan on winning the presidential elections. Malaysia looks forward to a better and more strategic relationship with Turkey," he tweeted earlier.
It was reported that Erdogan, who had been prime minister since 2003, secured about 52 per cent of the votes to become the 12th President of Turkey.
He is expected to take office on Aug 28.
