BALING: Although the gender of their baby is not yet known, the late flood victim Nurul Anis Abu Hassan, 23, once expressed the desire to name her baby Muhammad Aidan.
Her husband Muhammad Khairul Asyraf Nor Azman, 24, said the name chosen by his wife had a good meaning, namely full of energy, noble and determined.
"We got married on Feb 2 and the gender of the child, whether male or female really doesn't matter but the deceased has suggested the name Muhammad Aidan.
"Before this, there was a scan but the gender is not known, today, I was able to see my son's face, he looks like me," he told reporters when met at Surau Al-Istiqamah compound, Kampung Charuk Bemban Dalam, near here after his wife's funeral this morning.
In a tearful tone, Muhammad Khairul Asyraf, who works in a factory in Penang, said he had to accept the fact that he had lost his loved ones - his wife, mother Salmah Mat Akib, 53, baby and brother Khairul Ikhwan Nor Azman, 14, in the floods.
"Before this incident, my late wife never failed to advise me to take care of myself, to cite prayers when leaving the house and to be careful when riding my motorcycle.
"When asked where to go for Raya or to buy Raya clothes, she refused to talk about it and wanted to wait for me to return to the hometown first," said Muhammad Khairul who rents a house in Penang and commutes to his hometown on his off days.
Muhammad Khairul Asyraf described Nurul Anis as a very good wife, who was close to his mother and had volunteered to take care of her while he worked.
"She never controlled me and she always leaves it to me to decide," he said.
The bodies of Nurul Anis and her paralysed mother-in-law were found hugging each other under a pile of trees about 100 metres from their house that was washed away at about 9.30 am yesterday.
The third victim, Khairul Ikhwan was found at 11.55 am yesterday under a pile of trees not far from the bodies of his mother and sister-in-law.
