The Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) is seeking public donation to help victims of the South Asian earthquake.
Its secretary-general Dr Mohd Daud Sulaiman said, right now, there was an urgent need for food and winter clothing.
"The MRA has contacted our field representatives and humanitarian aid will be channeled immediately to the people affected by the quake," he said in a statement here today.
Last Monday, a 7.5-magnitude quake struck in northern Afghanistan, killing over 350 people and left thousands of others homeless.
The quake was centred in the province of Badakhshan in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan's far north and the tremors were also felt in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Mohd Daud said donation could be channeled to MRA's Maybank account number 5640 9820 6365 or by contacting the MRA secretariat at 03-91744672.
