Negeri Sembilan Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has been reappointed as the Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan for the third term.

Mohamad, who defended his Rantau state seat in Sunday's general election, is scheduled to be sworn in before Negeri Sembilan Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Kuala Pilah, on Saturday.

"Thank God, at noon today I was granted an audience with Tuanku Muhriz on Saturday to hand over the instrument of appointment for me to be reappointed Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

"I wish to express my thanks to the Prime Minister who is also BN chairman for again placing the trust in me to lead Negeri Sembilan," he told a press conference here today.

He also thanked Tuanku Muhriz for consenting to his appointment as the Menteri Besar.

Mohamad, who is also state Umno chief, had led the state BN to a simple majory victory in Saturday's 13th General Election. The coalition captured 22 of the 36 state seats at stake.

Mohamad, 57, was first appointed Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan on March 25 2004, succeeding Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, and was reappointed for his second term after the 2008 general election.

He said the state executive council line up would be decided in consultation with the Prime Minister after he takes his oath of office.
