Missing paraglider found safe

Paraglider Mohamad Rosely Azli who went missing while gliding over Bukit Batu Pahat, Kuala Kubu Bharu, yesterday, has been found safe.
Hulu Selangor Police chief Supt R.Supramaniam said Mohamad Rosely, 53, was found three kilometres north of Kampung Sungai Damar, Kuala Kubu Bharu here at 3.30 pm today.
"He was found by the Police Air Unit when he opened his paragliding umbrella and waved it which enabled us to locate him.
"The man was found in a weak state as he had gone missing for almost 24 hours. He also sustained leg injuries," he told reporters here.
Mohamad Rosely was rushed to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for further treatment.
Mohamad Rosely went missing while gliding over the area with six other paragliders at 2pm yesterday.
They were gliding up to about 4,000 feet before the others, except Mohamad Rosely, landed safely at Stadium Millennium in Kuala Kubu Bharu at 2.45 pm.
Supramaniam also advised extreme sports enthusiasts to notify the relevant authority before engaging themselves in any activity.
"This way, it will be easier for us to locate them should anything happen and also to avoid an incident like this from recurring," he said.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Rosely's daughter, when met at the hospital, expressed gratitude and thanked all quarters involved in the search for her father.
Adibah Yasmin, 21, said her father is now in good condition and able to talk and joke around with their family members.
"There are bruises and cuts on his face and body, but he is in stable condition now," she said. -- Bernama
